History

Our school was established by the decision of the Council of Higher Education (YÖK) Executive Board dated 15.12.1997. Our school started education in the 1998-1999 academic year. In Gökçeada Vocational School; Business Administration Program affiliated to the Department of Management and Organization, Tourism and Hotel Management Program affiliated to the Department of Hotel-Restaurant and Catering Services, Public Relations and Promotion Program affiliated to the Department of Marketing and Advertising, and Foreign Trade Program affiliated to the Department of Foreign Trade are the education provided.

Our school, which aims to continuously increase the quality of education in line with its mission to train qualified graduates with the knowledge and skills required by vocational education at international standards, has an academic structure that constantly improves itself by participating in national and international congresses, symposiums, workshops and research projects.

Our school aims to meet the problems that will be encountered in the future with an innovative educational approach. Our school sees its basic mission as high-quality education, responsibility and discussion-solution application. The school's perspective is global. It actively supports international scientific and cultural exchanges. The course programs are focused on the demands and opportunities of the international community. The values ​​of Gökçeada Vocational School are; high-quality education, responsibility, producing solutions to problems by discussing and researching, and implementing the solutions produced.

Gökçeada Vocational School; educates independent and analytical individuals with high-quality current associate degree programs and practical-oriented course programs in these programs, application and research activities.

With the decision of the ÇOMÜ Gökçeada Vocational School Rectorate dated 16.06.2022 and the meeting number 10/1-6, it was unanimously decided that the Tourism and Hotel Management Program, Public Relations and Promotion Program, Foreign Trade Program and Business Management Program will continue their education in Gökçeada School of Applied Sciences as of the 2022-2023 Academic Year due to the physical space renovation works of our university's Gökçeada Vocational School building and that this situation should be specified as a special condition in the 2022 YKS guide to be proposed to the Presidency of the Council of Higher Education. For this reason, the relevant departments benefit from the physical conditions of the units where they continue their education.

The duties and responsibilities in the unit have been determined in detail with the relevant procedures. In this context, the distribution of duties and responsibilities have been made among the Vocational School Director, Vice Directors, Vocational School Secretary, Vocational School Board, Vocational School Board of Directors, Department Heads, and Program Advisors.

A total of 3128 students, 1750 male and 1378 female, graduated from our school. The number of students who graduated by year is shown below.
